Kamay ni Hesus Healing Church in Lucban Quezon is one of the popular pilgrimage destinations in the Philippines during Holy Week. It is a 5-hectare shrine constructed on February 2002 and located at Brgy. Tinamnan, Lucban, Quezon that includes Via Dolorosa Grotto, Healing Church, Noah’s Ark, Sea of Galilie, Holy Family Park, and the Pastoral Center founded by the Healing Priest, Fr. Joey Faller. But hey, you don’t have to wait for a Holy Week just to visit Kamay ni Hesus! Sometimes it’s even better to come in places like this during days when you know it’s not that over crowded. When you can really reflect and appreciate the real meaning of prayer in silence.
When my mother-in-law came from Saipan, we decided to took for a family road trip to Quezon. And one of our main destination is to visit the Kamay ni Hesus. We arrived there at around 11 in the morning..when haring araw (sun) shines so painfully hot. Well that’s what you call sacrifice!
We entered first the Healing Church to pay homage and pray for thanksgiving and repentance. After a few minutes, we started our climb to Via Dolorosa. It was my first time to visit Kamay ni Hesus so I was feeling really ecstatic.
It’s not actually my first time to climb grotto steps. Spending my childhood in Maasin City, I should say places of worship like this is not new to me. When in other places, Lenten season is spent in beaches, malls and other vacation spots, Holy Week in Maasin is never complete without going to Hanginan (St. Francis Javier Shrine), Monte Cueva Shrine, Jaleca Hill and the Mama Mary Shrine. But since I’m now sharing our visit to Kamay ni Hesus, I would rather post about Maasinhon Faith some other time. And that’s a promise! 🙂
Going back to Kamay ni Hesus, we were tired and bathing with sweat when we reached to the top. But it’s okay! It’s not everyday we get to visit the place anyway.
After climbing the grotto, we explored the whole place.
It’s nice to visit places like this once in a while you know. So if you have time to drop by or you want take for a retreat to reflect on your relationship with God, why not go to Kamay ni Hesus?
